One of the rarest Fortnite cards has just broken the record price at an auction for trading cards from the popular battle royale game. The card was sold for 30,000 euros and ranks at the top.
The battle royale Fortnite is a huge franchise. Besides the game, e-sports, and a lot of merchandise, there were also trading cards. These were developed and produced by the publisher Panini. However, the contract between Epic and Panini expired in 2021. Since then, the sold cards have been highly valued among collectors.
A particularly valuable card features the legendary skin “Black Knight”. This could be unlocked in the battle pass of the second season (2017) of Fortnite. Today it is among the rarest and most sought-after skins in the game. An account with the “Black Knight” skin is worth a fortune today.

Why is the card so rare? The so-called “Crystal Shard” trading card of the Black Knight was similarly hard to obtain. You had to buy a special mega box, which was only available in Target stores or the international Panini shop. Moreover, the chance of finding the card was 1 in 100. Simply put: The card was already incredibly rare at release.
For how much was the card sold? The black knight was sold on May 4 for 34,800 US dollars. This is equivalent to about 30,000 euros. Thus, it is the highest-selling Fortnite card. The last record was held at 30,000 US dollars.
Theoretically, even a card was allegedly sold for 55,000 US dollars. However, the sale was private, and neither the buyer nor the seller discussed the amount or provided an official confirmation.
