A survival game on Steam promised knights and zombies three years ago. For a long time, it seemed to be dead. Now, the developers are finally back with a new trailer, and it brings great joy to fans.
Which game is being discussed? Blight: Survival is a co-op game that throws you into a medieval world full of zombies. The game was announced in 2022 with a 5-minute gameplay trailer, after which there was a long silence.
Now, the developers have returned with a new trailer and a blog post on Steam. This one focuses entirely on one of the biomes in the game.

Fans already love the dark atmosphere
What does the trailer show? It features the marchland: a muddy and bloody swamp area. At first glance, it doesn’t seem inviting – nor does it on the second glance.
- Countless corpses lie by the roadside, others are draped over torture devices or hanging from the gallows
- The pale sunlight and heavily desaturated colors further contribute to a dark atmosphere
- In the distance, the swamp stretches out, interspersed with scattered ruins
How are the reactions to the trailer? Those who have been there from the beginning are happy about the new sign of life. In the comments on YouTube, they write among other things:

Co-op action with knights and zombies
What kind of game is this? The developers themselves describe their game as “extraction-lite.” In it, you search for the source of the “Blight” – a plague that transforms humans into zombie-like monsters, in co-op with up to three other players.
Since the original announcement, quite a bit has changed at the developer Haenir Studio:
- In 2024, the developer announced a partnership with Behaviour Interactive. The studio behind Dead by Daylight is taking on the role of publisher.
- At the beginning, there were only two developers working at Haenir on Blight: Survival, but now there are “some dozens of full-time developers” from Behaviour on board. This was revealed by the community manager Brandon in the pinned comment under the trailer.
When will the game be released? Unfortunately, there is still no release date for Blight: Survival. According to the community manager, the game still has “a long way to go” – so even a release in 2025 seems unrealistic.
