The original series of Game of Thrones is now legendary, as is its ending, which many fans and actors were not satisfied with. One actress, however, thinks differently and could even imagine a return under certain circumstances.
What are the plans for Game of Thrones? Fans of Westeros have received the prequel series House of the Dragon since the end of Game of Thrones, and on January 19, 2026, the next production will start: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is a spin-off and tells its own story.
Besides that, writer George R.R. Martin recently revealed to Collider that several projects related to Game of Thrones are in the works at HBO. Specifically, he mentioned “five or six” pieces. Most are prequels, taking place before the events of the original series, but direct sequels would also be included.
This raises the question of whether some of the original characters will return and whether their actors would be willing to make another appearance. Sophie Turner, who portrayed Sansa Stark at the time, has a clear opinion on this.

Two aspects must be right
What does Sophie Turner say? In an interview with The Direct, the actress was asked how interested she would be in returning to Game of Thrones. In a sequel that takes place after the events of the main series, that would certainly be possible.
Without spoiling Sansa’s fate at the end of Game of Thrones – the character is in a good position to appear again. Sophie Turner’s first reaction to this question is likely to be understood with a wink: “Show me the money,” she replies, laughing. She then elaborates on her thoughts about a return:

I think it would be difficult but also great to return there. But I am very satisfied with how Sansa ended her story in “Game of Thrones”, and no one else was really happy with their ending. I feel like I got a good ending, and therefore I don’t know if I could return.
In fact, not only were many fans dissatisfied with the ending of Game of Thrones, but also some of the actors were The Tab reports, quite unhappy with the fate of their character.
In this regard, Turner thinks differently, but she knows that a return would come with certain risks:
Maybe it would be a great joy, or maybe it would be an attempt to hold on to something that was once magical but cannot be restored. I would need to see a script.

For every successful series begins with the script, the story, the characters, and their dialogues. This aspect ultimately displeased many fans with the finale and soured the ending of Game of Thrones for them.
