Two long-awaited games are dodging their release, which many players are looking forward to or at least would like to look forward to. But what if there could only be one of the two titles? The community surprisingly agrees. But what do you think?
Which games are being talked about? In a Reddit post in the Steam subreddit, user One-Ad7979 presents the community with a decision. They are to choose – between the long-awaited GTA 6, which is currently scheduled to be released on November 19, 2026, after another delay, and a potential Half-Life 3, which fans have been waiting for over 20 years.
Both games, one of which is set to be released soon and the development of the other (so far) relies only on hints and insider leaks, have been anticipated by many players for a long time.
However, if the community on Reddit can only choose one of the two games, the result is more unanimous than one might initially expect, and the decision is “not even close” (Phoenix_Fire_Au on Reddit).

How did the community decide? GTA 6 or Half-Life 3? The overwhelming, almost unanimous decision of the community favors the potential third part of the shooter series from Valve. Who would have thought so?!
Whether this is a general representation of all gamers is hard to say, after all, this discussion takes place in the Steam subreddit. However, this reflects besides a few other mentioned reasons an important point regarding why many players are not interested in GTA 6.
MutatedBready chose Half-Life 3, “because we [PC players] will get it directly at release and don’t have to wait another 5 years for a PC port.” HiddenHamer666 agrees: “My PC would definitely not be able to run GTA 6.”
But the platform is not the only reason for Half-Life fans, other aspects also contribute to the negative sentiment towards GTA 6:
- “Half-Life 3, because it’s guaranteed to be 100% good and contains no microtransactions,” writes brianpaulandaya on Reddit.
- “I haven’t even played the other Half-Life games, but even I would choose HL3. Rockstar has earned enough with GTA and had plenty of opportunities to tell the stories they wanted to tell. Fans of Half-Life have been demanding a third part and an ending to their story for decades, and they deserve it,” says earthceltic on Reddit.
- “Damn, I would just rather go into a post-apocalyptic wasteland full of alien AI than to Florida…” explains Theinternetdumbend on Reddit.
Even though many PC gamers would personally prefer a continuation of the two Half-Life games for their own reasons, GTA 6 is the title that, alongside several trailers and information about the content and story, also has a release date… even though this has been delayed again.
