How to unlock the new event triumph “A Brilliant Smile” in Destiny 2? We show you how to start the related quest and what you need to do until your teeth (or your chewing module) finally shine and your breath is fresh again.
Here’s what the triumph is about: Currently, the Halloween event Festival of the Lost is in full swing in Destiny 2. A total of 11 new triumphs can also be earned.
Numerous Guardians are currently pondering over two triumphs:
- On one hand, there is a secret triumph. How to unlock it is currently not known.
- On the other hand, there is the triumph “A Brilliant Smile”. While it is not secret, many players do not know exactly what they need to do to brush their Guardian’s teeth.
In this guide, we explain how to refresh your character’s breath and unlock the “A Brilliant Smile” achievement.
By the way, the Halloween event is not the only new content that recently came to Destiny 2. At the same time, also
- the new dungeon Pit of Heresy
- as well as the exotic quest for the new Xenophage machine gun
were launched.
A Brilliant Smile – How to start the Toothbrush quest
In the Destiny community, the quest has already been dubbed the Toothbrush quest. Because at the end, there is the mentioned toothbrush, with which your Guardian can finally brush their teeth.
Where to start? To begin the hunt for this triumph, you first need to get a small pack of raisins from Eris Morn on the Moon. However, to get her to give them to you, some prerequisites must be met:
- You must have successfully completed the event activity Spukforst at least once.
- When you visit Eris afterwards, you must wear the Masquerade helmet with a mask.
Only then will you receive the pack of raisins.
What you need to do for a Brilliant Smile
Once you have received the small box of raisins, the actual quest begins. In this context, you will be sent across the solar system and have to complete various smaller tasks to finally snag the coveted toothbrush.
“Impartial” – Visit Spider in the Tangled Shore: The description of the raisin pack gives a hint to the Tangled Shore in the Reef, where you should visit the Fallen trader Spider.
From him, you get the quest step Impartial. For this, you need to defeat enemies in the Tangled Shore – specifically
- 12 Fallen (in the area Thief’s Landing)
- 12 Scorn (in the area Fourhorn Gulch)
- 12 Cabal (in the area Sorik’s Cut)
- and 12 Hive (in the area Debris of Saturn)
Once you have done that, you need to return to Spider, where you will receive the next quest step in the form of the Winged Candy.
“Loaded for Bear” – Visit Ana Bray on Mars: Bring the Winged Candy to Ana on Mars, and in return, you will receive your next task – Loaded for Bear.
For the next item Unschokolade, you need to
- eliminate 10 enemies with kinetic weapons
- 10 enemies with energy weapons
- and 10 enemies with power weapons
If you don’t want to walk around too much, just use the Lost Sector Kern-Terminus in the Braytech Futurescape area. Once you have done that, you will receive the Unschokolade.
“Precise” – Off to Asher Mir on Io: Bring the Unschokolade to Asher on Io and then defeat 10 Vex and 10 Taken with precision kills. You will then receive a piece of celery from him.
“In Your Element” – Search for Brother Vance on Mercury: Bring the piece of celery to Vance. Afterwards, you need to defeat 10 enemies with each of the three different elements Solar, Void, and Arc. In return, you will receive the item Splicedrops.
“Touched by the Light” – Go to Failsafe on Nessus: The Splicedrops go to the AI Failsafe. Once you have handed in the item, you immediately proceed with the next task. This is called Touched by the Light and requires you to
- defeat 5 Cabal
- 5 Vex
- and 5 Fallen
with your abilities on Nessus. For this, you will be rewarded with salty sweets afterwards.
“Predestined Outcome” – Off to Devrim Kay in the European Dead Zone: Now deliver the salty sweets to Devrim Kay. You can find this NPC in the European Dead Zone (EDZ) on Earth.
Then eliminate
- 5 Taken
- 5 Cabal
- and 5 Fallen
with the new finisher moves. In the end, there is a sour engram.
“As Good As I Can” – Now off to Petra Venj in the Dreaming City: At Petra, you need to get rid of the sour engram you earned from Devrim.
Afterwards, there are fresh tasks again. This time your abilities are in focus. You need to
- destroy 5 enemies with the melee ability
- 5 enemies with the grenade ability
- and 10 enemies with the super
of your Guardian in the Dreaming City. As a reward, you will receive a sugary engram.
“Not In Our House” – Fly to Sloane on Titan: The sugary engram is then given to Sloane on the Moon Titan. There you need to defeat enemies in three different areas – namely
- 15 enemies in the Arboretum
- 15 enemies in the Shattered Halls
- and 30 enemies in the Solarium
The best way to do this is on patrol. If you master this task, you will receive the Void Soda.
Dancing – Now return to Eris: Once you have earned the Void Soda, return to the Moon to Eris Morn, where you hand in the soda.
Now it’s time for the final step – you need to perform a class dance. Choose the corresponding gesture and activate it when you are in front of Eris.
The emote depends on your chosen race and not your class.
- Humans must activate the City Dance
- Awoken must perform the Graceful Dance
- and Exos perform the Robo Dance.
You can find all the emotes in the corresponding emote menu of the character screen.
Grab the toothbrush and brush your teeth: After successfully performing the dance, Eris will give you a Goody-Bag. Accept it, and among other things, you will receive a toothbrush as a reward. You will then find it in the inventory menu.
When you use the brush, it will become a used toothbrush, and you will finally receive the triumph “A Brilliant Smile”.
