In Helldivers 2 players face a new, strongest enemy. This enemy is so threatening that players have now found a trick to have a chance against it.
What kind of enemy is it? The Hivelord is the new strongest enemy in Helldivers 2. This sandworm hybrid, probably inspired by Dune, burrows through the earth and suddenly emerges underneath the Helldivers to wreak havoc.
Just when it’s a mission where players need to protect a mobile drilling unit again, the monster mercilessly shows what it thinks of over-ground, its soldiers, and their equipment. But now players have found a trick to outsmart the enemy.
Here you can see the trailer for the expansion that introduced the Hivelords into the game:
Supply Box becomes GPS Tracker
How does the trick work? On Reddit, user gunsnerdsandsteel reports a new trick they found to make dealing with the new enemy easier. They explain that they called in a supply box.
While this is mainly meant to supply players with new ammunition and syringes, it shows every player the location of where it stands. However, the group around the Reddit user requested the supply box in such a way that it hit the Hivelord.
The box became lodged in the body of the Hivelord and moved with him, even when he was underground. Thanks to the built-in GPS tracker, players can now track live where the monster is located using the supply box. The accurately placed box thus always shows all players where the Hivelord is. This makes the trick very powerful, as you always know when real danger is imminent.
You can see what that looks like on Reddit:
How are players reacting to the trick? Veterans and recruits of Helldivers 2 are fascinated by the fact that the Hivelord actually moves on the map and doesn’t just spawn here and there. They also praise the idea on Reddit:
- Gullible-Hurry8106: “Incredibly clever or a fantastic random discovery. Either way, thanks for sharing, this is great!”
- Lone_Recon: “That one teammate who needs ammo is going to have a nasty surprise!”
- WanderingToGalaxies: “Put this man IMMEDIATELY at the top of the research and development department!”
Many veterans appreciate that the Hivelord as the new strongest enemy in the game presents a new challenge for players. They believe that Helldivers 2 needs a challenge and know exactly how over-ground should handle the monster: The strongest enemy in Helldivers 2 is almost invincible, but the experienced veterans say: It must be this way
