In Battlefield 6 the battlefield can be ruthless, which is why it is important to be able to rely on your team-mates. However, one player betrays his squad and many are certain that there should be a ban for this betrayal.
How does the player sabotage his squad? The player legendtr shared a clip on Reddit, showing his round start in “Conquest” mode. He already marked his heli to jump in and take out his opponents.
As the timer counted down and legendtr was about to sprint to the heli, one of his team-mates shot at the heli, causing it to explode. Clearly confused, legendtr looked around, wondering what was going on. Many fans are sure in the comments: This is a griefer, and this type of player has existed in the Battlefield franchise for a long time.
“That shouldn’t even be possible.”
What is a griefer? A griefer is a player who intentionally sabotages or annoys other players to ruin their enjoyment of the game. Such players revel in the suffering of other fans, as in the case of legendtr with his heli.
What do fans say about the traitor? Players like Gill-CIG remember such saboteurs even in titles like Battlefield 1942, but back then there were features where players could vote to kick certain team members from the server. This is not possible in Battlefield 6.
big_ham35 meanwhile reported a similar situation where a saboteur was causing trouble. However, he had had enough, so he used his drone and flew it constantly in front of the villain’s face until this one finally left the round in a rage.
sub-zero623 mentions his solution for dealing with such players. When he encounters a saboteur in a round, he reports him and leaves the match. Others also point out that it is worthwhile to take the effort to fill out the report form so that there is a chance that such players will be banned.
For many, this is not collegial behavior, and to prevent this from happening, DICE should take steps to allow players to defend themselves – whether with ban waves or immunity timers for vehicles.
