How long does it take to walk through the Middle-earth version of The Lord of the Rings Online? A player has just found out and highlighted one of the greatest strengths of the MMORPG.
What is behind the journey? The YouTube channel “Lotro Archive” aims to celebrate the beauty of Middle-earth. How? Well, with a walk from one of the northernmost locations on the continent (the icy expanses of Forochel) to the southern borders of Khûd Zagin.
After the YouTuber initially released his journey in 26 individual episodes, the nearly 7-hour march has now gone live in all its glory. The project is accompanied “only” by the atmospheric soundtrack of the MMORPG. So you can fully absorb the various corners of Middle-earth.
While the start is quite melancholic and desolate due to the barren northern region, things change noticeably later when it moves into the beautiful zones of the game world – like the Shire or the tropical islands southwest of Gondor. The player also visits well-known places like Isengard and Minas Tirith.
