What exactly happened? A player posted on reddit an emotional post. His brother wanted to clean his PS4 Slim, but he had neither the right tools nor had he really researched how to clean the console properly. In another post, he explains that his brother is 13 years old.
In his post, he writes:
I need help. My brother cleaned my old PS4 Slim. He did not research and opened it. He cleaned it (not really, because he has no tools) and put it back together. The problem: He didn’t screw it back in (it apparently doesn’t go back in), so my question is: is that important? I think it is, but he doesn’t want to listen, and I don’t want the PS4 to be damaged.
What is that missing part? The metal plate is usually installed as a cover for the motherboard in the PS4. This part prevents more dirt from entering the PS4 and protects sensitive components on the motherboard. It also serves as a heat shield inside the console.
Under the post, many players recommend that he should definitely reinstall the part. Otherwise, the PS4 will get dirty much faster than it already does.
