FIFA 22 was presented on July 11. The announcement didn’t say much about the career mode – but a small sentence hinted at a feature that career mode fans are already looking forward to.
This is the current discussion about FIFA 22: After FIFA 22 was presented with a new trailer, players of the franchise are already discussing the innovations in the upcoming installment. The trailer focused mainly on the new feature “HyperMotion,” which is supposed to provide more realism. However, in the FIFA subreddit, it is especially one announcement regarding the career mode that is causing excitement.
Because on the official website for FIFA 22, it is announced that in the revamped career mode, you can finally create your own club. Currently, in the career mode, you can only use the existing clubs from the real world. While you can choose and take your personal favorite club to the top – having an entirely own club is a different story altogether. You can actually build it from scratch.
Literally, the announcement for the career mode states: “Live your football dreams in the career mode of FIFA 22. Create a club and turn your players from relegation candidates into world stars” (via EA SPORTS).
In addition, the player career is also to be revamped. Further announcements regarding the career mode are expected to follow soon – it is hoped that the probably most popular offline mode in the game will receive a few more innovations. However, even now, the approach is enough to spark discussions among players.
Players hope for customization and online feature
This is what the community says: In the FIFA subreddit, the announcement that a personal club can be created is well received. Many players have criticized in the past that the career mode lacks personality. Having a personal club would mean a step in the right direction.
Because ultimately, a club not only needs a team but also a crest, jerseys, and a stadium. Players hope to be able to express themselves creatively here:
- “I’ve literally waited ages for this!!! I’m so glad it’s happening!”, comments one user (via reddit).
- “Although this is a great addition, the feature will probably be very similar to the FUT stadium feature in Ultimate Team. So temper your expectations, folks!”, says another user (via reddit).
- “I really hope there are proper customization options (jerseys, stadium, etc.) and that it isn’t as plain as in Pro Clubs”, comments a user (via reddit) and refers to the competition: “A friendly reminder that you can create your own clubs in PES (including sponsors and so on, I created my damn university league with authentic jerseys for my club).”.
At the same time, there is some criticism that such a feature existed before – namely in earlier installments like FIFA 07. However, in recent years, the option was completely missing.
Additionally, there is still discussion about the probably most desired feature for the career mode: namely an online component, with which you could play a career with or against friends. Because especially now that you can create your own clubs, it would be extremely exciting to compete with friends.
