A coming series on Amazon Prime deals with various video games, including the MMORPG New World. According to the creators, players can expect an exciting story that takes its own paths.
Which series is being talked about? At gamescom 2024, Deadpool director Tim Miller announced a new series. Its name: Secret Level. It is an anthology series, meaning each episode tells its own, complete story.
A different game will be highlighted in each episode. Among the 15 episodes, there are famous titles such as Warhammer 40,000, Pac-Man, or the universe of Dungeons & Dragons. But also the MMORPG New World: Aeternum. The project is developed by Blur Studio, which has already gained experience with CGI film sequences for video games.

Our story in New World: Aeternum is about a vain, egocentric hero who may not recognize the value of other people in Aeternum with him. We have all encountered such players. Sometimes we are those players ourselves.

We will never understand these games as well as the people who developed them, so we involve them in every step of the process to understand what makes them great and unique, what types of stories, moments, and images feel appropriate, and where they see potential to tell a good story or even incorporate a subtle reference to something that the players love.

However, it is important that Secret Level does not become a retelling of the game. What fans already know from the game should not just be repeated. Instead, there should be elements of the IP that “have not been seen anywhere else,” says Rob Chestney, who is the Narrative Director at New World.
