As usual, many horror films are set to return in October, aiming to create quite a scare for the spooky season. One sequel is expected to be quite intense, as it seems that just the beginning will cause viewers to flee.
Which film is it about? On October 31, Terrifier 3 will be released in Germany. The Terrifier series has become a minor hit, managing to earn good revenue with a low budget. The second part cost just under 800,000 dollars but grossed over 15 million dollars (via Box Office Mojo).
However, the Terrifier series is not for the faint of heart. The director comes from the special effects field and conjured up really brutal scenes in the two predecessors, which received positive feedback from fans due to the minimal use of CGI. The second part made it onto our list of horror films rated 18 and over: 5 horror films rated 18 that are not for the faint-hearted.
The first and second Terrifier films are classic slashers in the style of old VHS films (the second film even received a limited VHS release). The films are just very explicit when it comes to violence and should only be watched by those who can handle such content.
The third part will also not shy away from explicit scenes, and early reports show that viewers are fleeing. If you’re unsure about whether you can watch a movie, sites like Does the Dog Die can help.

The auditorium was even prepared
What happened at the first screenings? The third part also promises explicit violence, and the first screening demonstrates this. As reported by LADbible, several viewers allegedly left the auditorium during the first screening of the film in the UK – and that was already during the first scene of the film.
According to the PR team of Terrifier 3, 11 people left the auditorium, with one reportedly even vomiting. Games Radar even reported that there were special vomit bags in the auditorium.
Damien Leone, the director of the film, said the following about the opening scene:
Mark my words. I guarantee you that the first five minutes of this film will be very controversial. But that isn’t even the big killing scene. That’s why I thought I had to make this film entirely on my own because it’s too crazy. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in the second part was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.

This, of course, comes from the director who wants to promote the film, but if you look at Terrifier 1 and especially Terrifier 2, you can expect that the latest entry will also play with the limits of what is bearable.
The big star of the films is the villain Art, who roams around disguised as a horror clown. He is played by David Howard Thornton, who revealed in an interview on YouTube that even he found one scene too much. He almost vomited after filming too.
If you want to watch the films, you should only do so if you have a strong stomach, as even horror experts might hit their limits. For those who prefer more relaxing horror films, this list offers some tips: 5 spooky movies rated 6 that you can watch with the whole family on Halloween.
