RoboCop is a science fiction movie from 1987. The main role is played by a cyborg police officer who ensures law and order on the streets. There have been several video game adaptations of the series, but with RoboCop: Rogue City, the best yet could follow.
What is RoboCop: Rogue City?
- We play a cop who is half human, half machine, and ensures justice on the streets of Detroit
- The story is set between RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3
- Original actor Peter Weller lends his voice to the cyber cop
- In the first-person shooter, we can use 20 different weapons to blow criminals’ heads off
- Our police work includes maintaining public order
- The title will be released on November 2, 2023, for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5
One of the features of RoboCop: Rogue City is that we can solve tasks according to our own sense of justice. Depending on which options we choose, the outcome of a mission can vary or determine the well-being of citizens.
A major plus is said to be the game’s visuals (via polygon.com). The settings are said to be nearly identically replicated and many NPCs look great. This is said to perfectly capture the look and feel of RoboCop.

Features in RoboCop: Rogue City remind of Fallout
What features are there? The team at Polygon also writes that the game reminds them of Fallout in some aspects. For example, there is a feature that allows us to interrogate NPCs. We can choose whether to pressure citizens for information or even threaten them with penalties if they do not cooperate.
Additionally, there is a skill tree through which we can further enhance our cybernetic abilities. This includes, among others, the following abilities:
- Slow-motion view
- Shockwave that can kill or stun opponents
- Dash punch
- Psychological influence that can strengthen NPCs’ trust in RoboCop
The system is somewhat reminiscent of the SPECIAL system from the Fallout series, where players can invest points into different aspects of their personality as they level up.
Polygon has already been able to play the game for several hours and is looking forward to experiencing the full campaign of 20 to 30 hours. This title could possibly be the best in the series so far.
These titles have existed in the past
Why could this be the best RoboCop? All titles released so far in the RoboCop series have not exactly impressed with their quality. The best-rated game of the series has a score of 62 points on Metacritic.
Another game from 2003 can even only muster a score of 30 points. Thus, the bar for RoboCop: Rogue City is not set very high, and it could be that this title secures the first place of the best games in the series.
