Since Stranger Things, Dungeons & Dragons is back in vogue. The series Vox Machina has even been adapted into a series based on a famous role-playing campaign. This seems to be just the beginning, with the next series following in November.
Vox Machina is a special fantasy series, as it is based on a DnD web series by the group Critical Role. These are professional voice actors and performers who go through a campaign. In Vox Machina, viewers follow the characters and story of the campaign in the form of an animated series.
The series now has 3 seasons, and as confirmed at the recent San Diego Comic Con, there will be a 4th and 5th season to conclude the series.
But before that happens, fans of Critical Role can enjoy a new series. Already in November of this year, “The Mighty Nein” will debut, adapting another campaign from the group. The first clip is being well received by fans.

What kind of series is this? “The Mighty Nein” is based on the second campaign of Critical Role. It again follows a group of adventurers comprised of various races and classes from the DnD universe. The series takes place in the same universe as Vox Machina. In the first sneak peek, you can already see the group members:

- Fjord Stone, voiced by Travis Willingham
- Beauregard Lionett, voiced by Marisha Ray
- Jester Lavorre, voiced by Laura Bailey
- Nott the Brave, voiced by Sam Riegel

All characters are voiced by the actors from the original campaign. The first material for the series is well received by fans. Under a Reddit thread with over 9,500 upvotes and nearly 600 comments (as of 26.07.2025, 12:50 PM), fans are celebrating the sneak peek:

When is The Mighty Nein set to release? “The Mighty Nein” is set to premiere on November 19, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video. However, the series and the final seasons of Vox Machina are not the only projects Critical Role currently has in the works.
