The English-language magazine Business Insider spoke with a millennial who reports that he is employed at three jobs simultaneously. With his three jobs, he currently earns $368,000 a year (around €350,000). The individual wished to remain anonymous, but Business Insider verified their authenticity.
He explained that he does not feel guilty about having multiple jobs as long as he performs all three jobs diligently. However, he also mentioned that he does not feel any loyalty towards his employers because he does not believe they would protect him from being dismissed. “They can dismiss you at any time.”
Several people secretly have a second job for better income
He is not the only person secretly working multiple jobs in everyday life. Business Insider reports that the magazine claims to have interviewed more than two dozen people in the USA who all work for multiple jobs.
While there is always a certain risk of getting caught, many of those working two jobs explain that the financial benefits generally outweigh the disadvantages and risks.
The person interviewed by Business Insider also added that he does not have to work more than 40 hours a week on average, even though he has multiple jobs. And he hopes that this will continue to be the case with his third job.
He says that he is fortunate not to have many meetings. Occasionally, he has two meetings scheduled at the same time. In such cases, he uses two headphones simultaneously: AirPods in one ear and over-ear headphones in the other.
