What model is it about? The manufacturer Genki sells console accessories, including cases and attachments for the Switch. On the occasion of CES 2025, Genki presented its accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2. This was reported by the English-language magazine WCCFtech.com.
The problem: Nintendo officially introduced the Switch 2 two weeks later, on January 17, 2025. But now Genki is being sued by Nintendo. This was reported by TheVerge.

Why is Nintendo suing? In the lawsuit filed on May 2, Nintendo accuses Genki of five cases of “trademark infringement, unfair competition, and false advertising” and claims that the company violated several laws.
Furthermore, it is claimed that the use of Nintendo’s trademarks by Genki is confusing for buyers, as they “are likely to attribute all shortcomings, defects, or quality deficiencies of Genki’s products to Nintendo itself.” Nintendo believes that Genki could exploit the trust of Nintendo fans and thereby cause significant damage to the brand.
How does the manufacturer respond? In the meantime, Genki has spoken out on X.com and stated:
You may have seen that Nintendo recently filed a lawsuit against us. We take this matter seriously and are working with our legal advisors to respond appropriately.
What we can say is this: Genki has always been an independent company focused on developing innovative gaming accessories for the community we love. We are proud of the work we have done, and we stand by the quality and originality of our products.
