Remnant II will soon receive its final major DLC expansion. This will be released along with a free Boss Rush mode for all players.

What is it about? Remnant II is the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person shooter with Soulslike elements and a strong focus on co-op with up to two additional players. According to the developers, The Dark Horizon is the third and final DLC for the game.

In Remnant II, you will venture as one of the last survivors of humanity into unknown worlds, where you must confront deadly monsters and tough bosses. You can do this alone or with up to two teammates.

What do we know about the DLC? The Dark Horizon leads players to a mysterious place where time has stood still. The civilization that once lived here has long disappeared – only their robots have remained. Over time, these have become corrupted and hostile.

The Dark Horizon includes a new story, new dungeons, a new gliding system, new equipment, and a new archetype called “The Overseer.” Additionally, there will be new allies; the trailer already shows a small friendly drone.

Overview of the new Boss Rush mode

In addition to the paid DLC, there will also be a free update. This update will include, among other things, the new Boss Rush mode where you will face hordes of enemies and bosses. You can play this either solo or in co-op, just like the main game.

Equipment and weapons found in this mode will carry over to the main game. However, there will also be temporary buffs available only in Boss Rush. You can choose from three difficulty levels, which seemingly differ mainly in their length:

• Triple Threat (three bosses)
• Trial by Fire (seven bosses)
• The Gauntlet (nineteen bosses)

How do I get the DLC? Owners of the Ultimate Edition of Remnant II will receive the DLC for free, while everyone else can purchase it starting September 24, 2024, for €9.75.
