Many users who want to game on their computer play with a gaming mouse. And this device often accompanies you for years in everyday life.
When I buy a gaming mouse, at least three things must be met:
- The mouse offers good ergonomics and feels secure in the hand
- The device provides me with the right features and buttons for my genre
- The gaming mouse is well-made and doesn’t creak with every movement
Optionally, I also appreciate comparatively heavy gaming mice, as I prefer to have some weight under my fingers rather than not feeling the mouse at all.
When buying, I, like many other gamers, look for good deals, as I like to save a few euros, and I’m rarely willing to spend significantly more than 100 euros for a gaming mouse or keyboard.
For this reason, the price of the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is a really great deal for me. Because unlike many other offers, here you get a really good gaming mouse with many useful features for almost 100 euros.

You can get the Basilisk Ultimate for just 100 euros and that is a top offer
That’s why the mouse is such a good offer: For around 100 euros, you currently get one of the best gaming mice that Razer has in its range if you prefer a wireless option.
Currently, you can also get the Razer Viper Ultimate for 85 euros on offer at Amazon*, but here I was never convinced by the build quality as much as with the Basilisk Ultimate.
Because in addition to the excellent sensor, I am especially convinced by the high-quality build of the Basilisk Ultimate. Moreover, the mouse offers plenty of buttons that you can configure and set via the software. Thanks to integrated memory, you can always take your profiles with you.
If you game like I do with first-person shooters like Apex Legend, then the sniper button is also very helpful. With the sniper button, you can temporarily lower the DPI when pressed, allowing you to aim better. The sniper button can also be removed on the Basilisk Ultimate. In the newly presented Basilisk V3, the button is now permanently installed.
Razer uses its proprietary Hyperspeed technology in the Basilisk Ultimate. This is a wireless standard that the manufacturer uses in some of its mice (Basilisk X Hyperspeed and the Ultimate models of the Basilisk and Viper).
I can assure you here that you will notice no differences between the Basilisk Ultimate and a wired mouse, and it is on the same level as Logitech with its Lightspeed standard.
What weaknesses does the mouse have? If you have ever gamed with Razer peripherals, you will either love them or hate them: Razer’s software “Synapse” is cumbersome, confusing, and definitely a matter of taste.
I personally do not like it because I find the software too cumbersome and it offers me too many functions that I hardly ever use in everyday life.
In direct comparison to the G502 Hero, you also cannot change the weight of the Basilisk Ultimate since no additional weights are included. Personally, I am someone who barely used this feature even on the G502 Hero, so I do not miss it on the Basilisk Ultimate.
What is the current price? Normally you would get the Basilisk Ultimate with docking station for 190 euros, but you can usually find the mouse for around 130 euros, with a few exceptions.
Currently, on Amazon and MediaMarkt, you can get the gaming mouse for just under 100 euros. So you save about half of the normal price and about 25% based on the previous market price. And that is a really good deal since you would usually pay 30 euros more for the mouse.

There are only a few good alternatives to the Basilisk Ultimate
The strongest competitor for the Basilisk Ultimate remains the Logitech G 502 Hero Lightspeed. The Logitech G502 Hero Lightspeed is available on Amazon* currently for about 100 euros. During Prime Day, you could even get the mouse for around 70 euros, so you would not get the G502 Hero Lightspeed here at the best price, unlike the Basilisk Ultimate.
With the SteelSeries Rival 5, you also get a strong gaming mouse, which is, however, significantly lighter compared to the Basilisk and the G502. However, the ergonomics of the Rival 5 are somewhat unusual, as the sniper button is hard to reach. The SteelSeries Rival 5 is now available on Amazon* for about 50 euros thanks to Prime Day.
Roccat’s Kone AIMO Remastered is also worth a look for those of you looking for a heavy right-handed gaming mouse and are not bothered by the cable.
