The endgame of Dune: Awakening is largely designed around conflict, politics, and domination. However, a few players are taking this to the extreme and want to dominate the entire endgame area. The “mob” is against this.
What is this council about?
- Once you reach the endgame of Dune: Awakening, you will spend most of your time in the Deep Desert. This is actually a PvP area, but it now also offers PvE content.
- The Deep Desert is the best source of spice, which you need for endgame recipes. Spice is rare and coveted, hence there is a lot of争斗over this resource.
- As a user explains on Reddit, several guilds have now joined forces on his server to control the entire desert.
What drives this council? According to the post, the 5-10 largest clans with the most firepower have formed a “council.” These players have seized control of the Deep Desert and meet weekly to set the rules for the server.
Initially, it is about controlling the spice. However, some of the rules are extremely questionable – if they are indeed correct:
- all medium and large spice fields belong to the council
- anyone who does not comply or comes too close to a council base will be ruthlessly hunted
- women and solo players are not allowed on the server
According to the creator, the members of the council refer to themselves as “incels.” The leader is online 24/7 to ensure that the rules are adhered to. This causes resistance within the community.
“I want an anti-council council”
The thread creator is now planning a counter-movement and wants to team up with other players to form an anti-council on his server. They should meet at the same time as the council to drive away the annoying rascals: “The Fremen would also be very anti-council.”
His plan receives a lot of support, and some users announce they will create a character on the server. This will be excellent content: “Bonus if you play a woman in chat.”
Others believe that for these reasons server transfers should be possible. They want to join the fight but do not want to constantly start a new character for such things. A few note: If what the council says is true, they should be reported. This is toxic behavior and grounds for a ban.
On other servers, things seem to be running much more civilly. One user says: For him, it is actually really boring. There, people walk around and help each other when the sand buggy breaks down. Moreover, there are always servers where players stop playing – much to the delight of those who remain: “Shai-Hulud watches over me” – player from Dune: Awakening finds the jackpot in an abandoned base, is set for life
