In Starfield there is a feature for your character that allows you to wonderfully troll NPCs and drive them into despair.
What are features in Starfield?
- At the beginning of Starfield, you can choose three features during character creation. These are character traits or background information that will characterize your character going forward-
- Some of the features are interesting extras like your own dream house or an intact relationship with your parents, others are among the best features in Starfield and are especially worthwhile to start the game.
- One feature has proven to be particularly useful for trolling NPCs and confusing them.
Which feature is it? The feature ‘Extroverted’ turns your character into a person who enjoys being around other people and loves company. It also improves your oxygen consumption when traveling with other people and worsens it when you are alone.
As the Reddit user “EarlGrey_Picard” recently showed in a clip, an extroverted character also receives their own dialogue lines that are perfect for trolling NPCs.
In the clip, you can see how the player encounters an armed guard who is looking for a suspicious person and matches the description of the player character. The ensuing dialogue offers various options such as attacking or convincing the guard that they have the wrong person.
Additionally, there is a dialogue option marked with the feature ‘extroverted’ that responds to the guard: ‘I don’t fit the description. You fit the description.’
Following this, there is a witty exchange where both sides repeatedly say ‘No, you fit the description,’ after which the player character concludes: If they both fit the description, they must be twins.
By the end of the conversation, the NPC is so confused that they no longer know what the two were actually talking about. They then simply let the player go.
How does the community react? The Reddit user themselves posted the funny clip with the question ‘Wait, does this mean extroverts get ahead in life?’
Other users share their enthusiasm for the feature and the resulting dialogue on Reddit:
- ‘So I can troll NPCs with this feature? Bought.’
- ‘Now I’m glad I chose [the extroverted feature].’
- ‘One of the funniest Starfield interactions I’ve seen so far.’
Another funny interaction in Starfield had a player with the robot Vasco, who made a joke about the player:
