A gaming PC ends up high on the wall, but that’s not where the computer should be. The community is amused by the communication problems of a father and how the PC is hanging on the wall: namely anything but straight.
A family father hangs his son’s gaming PC on the wall. Only later does he realize that he probably misunderstood his wife. But it’s not just the communication chaos that entertains the community, but also the way the PC ends up hanging on the wall.
Computer is not just a Computer
What exactly did the father do? The family father reports on Reddit that his wife had asked him to mount their child’s gaming PC on the wall. Literally, his wife is said to have said: “Please mount the child’s computer to the wall to clear space on the desk.”
For the father, it’s clear: The gaming PC must be meant by computer. So he mounts it high above the table. Only then does he realize that he has taken it too literally. Because his wife meant the monitor with computer, not the case with the hardware. Now everyone is mad: the child and wife because the PC is up there, and he himself because he only meant well.
What I heard: Hang computer on wall.
What she meant: MOUNT MONITOR to wall.
Now both are angry.
At least he still has to connect the PC. He explains that he still has an external power switch and a few long cables.
But the community is still laughing about something else. Because the computer is hanging on the wall, but anything but neatly. It gives the viewer the impression that the PC wants to crush the person underneath at any moment. Someone writes: “Looks damn weird, but it’s functional.”
This is noticed even by the father, who later makes another post on Reddit, in which he writes: “Alright, alright – I went to the garage and built a makeshift support so that you can all sleep peacefully … at least for now.”
Thus, he has at least solved the problem that the PC no longer hangs crookedly on the wall.
What ultimately caused the failure? Who is ultimately to blame for the whole chaos is probably something no one can say. One user says, “It’s always a problem to call a monitor a computer.” Others, however, reply that the father could have at least asked again. Others see the fault with the wife, who could have at least checked the assignment, because then it wouldn’t have been the PC that went on the wall, but the monitor as desired.
