In Diablo 4 can the grind be hard and arduous, but with a fun build, nothing stands in your way. A Reddit user has introduced an interesting combo for a build that you can use well for your second character.
What kind of build is this? The Reddit user Jon011684 has reported to the Diablo 4 community about a strong combo in case some are interested in second characters. This is the combo Barbarian with Thorns. According to him, this should be very strong if you have the necessary aspects ready.
The build is powerful because Jon has reached World Tier 4 at level 54, completed faster Hellflights than most level 80 heroes, and has been able to handle dungeons without problems. He emphasizes that this is not the best endgame build, but it can definitely keep up without problems in the early and mid-game. We will show you what you need for the build.

Barbarian Thorns Build: Skills, Tips and Equipment
You need these active skills:
- Chop – Rank 1
- Double Strike – Rank 1
- Strategic War Cry – Rank 1
- Strategic Challenge Call – Rank 5
- Powerful War Cry – Rank 5
- Steel Grip of the Fighter – Rank 1
You need these passive skills:
- Pressure Point – Rank 1
- Imposing Presence – Rank 3
- Combat Power – Rank 3
- Outburst – Rank 3
- Stone Hard – Rank 3
- Thunderous Voice – Rank 3
- Raiding Command – Rank 3
- Throat Scream – Rank 3
- Digger Fighter – Rank 3
- Paralysis – Rank 1
- Tenacious – Rank 2
- Unleashed
This is how you play the build: Use War Cry, Double Strike, and Steel Grip of the Fighter to maintain your Berserker effect.
Your Steel Grip and Double Strike also make your opponents vulnerable. On top of that, you should occasionally rotate your calls to buff yourself.
These equipment items you should have: The unique chest piece “Blade Plate” and the Slaughter Chief aspect are two important things you need for this build. The chest piece provides you with a lot of thorns, while the aspect reduces the cooldown of your shouts.
Furthermore, you should use the Death Longing aspect for your two-handed weapon. Additionally, you should also use emeralds for your armor and weapons and skulls for your jewelry.
As for expertise, that of two-handed swords is important. The level does not matter; it’s only about the additional bleeding damage.
This was the build recommendation for a second character in case you want to try it before Season 1. What do you think of the stat Thorns? Is it powerful or just second-rate? Let us know in the comments.
