The South Korean horror series Hellbound premiered in 2021 on Netflix and immediately took the world series charts by storm. It raised the question of how people would react if they knew that something like hell really exists. Currently, a 2nd season is in the works, as a YouTube video revealed.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known mainly for Train to Busan, the horror and mystery series Hellbound was produced.
The series is based on the webtoon of the same name, written by Yeon Sang-ho himself and Choi Gyu-seok.
In November 2021, the 1st season was released on Netflix and immediately topped the Netflix charts as the most-watched series on the streaming platform worldwide at launch, as you can read here from our colleagues at Filmstarts.
Since the announcement in September 2022, fans have known for sure that the series will get a continuation. A YouTube video from August 4th then provided insight into the current work.

What is Hellbound about? Suddenly, 3 creepy beings appear on Earth and burn people alive after beating the victims.
These mysterious events also occur in the South Korean capital Seoul, causing fear and chaos in the city.

The victims are already warned in advance by a supernatural messenger that they will be sent to hell next.
The police attempt to investigate the backgrounds of the strange deaths, while a cult led by Jeong Jin-soo aids in the divine punishment of the damned. The lawyer Min Hye-jin stands against them and tries to save the people.
When will Hellbound be available on Netflix? So far, no exact release date has been announced for the 2nd season of the South Korean horror series.
However, you can watch the 1st season on Netflix in the meantime. It consists of 6 episodes, each lasting between 42 and 60 minutes.
