In September 2022, the Anime Eisen Flügel was announced, but then disappeared without a trace. Now, after 3 years, there is finally an update.
What kind of anime is this? Eisen Flügel is based on a light novel with 2 volumes and is set to be adapted into a film soon. Viewers will follow the adventures of young Karl Schnitz, a talented pilot from the Republic of Silvanna.
- In his world, there are dragons that dominate the skies. Karl wants to break this world order and build an airplane that is faster than the notorious Emperor Dragon.
- In the background, there are political tensions between his homeland and the neighboring country. Both states are still weakened due to a past war.
- Karl invents the Blitz Vogel, which uses a jet engine instead of traditional propellers. With the airplane, he aims to catch up with the Emperor Dragon.
The film primarily revolves around the question of whether human ingenuity can overcome the natural superiority of dragons. Political intrigues and the development of a new weapon are also part of the story. You can see the trailer for the anime film here:
Eisen Flügel has been silent for a long time
What is the current status of Eisen Flügel? The anime was first announced in 2022, and since then there has been no update. The trailer only shows a few sequences, but still no significant scenes.
Furthermore, the trailer still does not have a final release date. Not even an approximate timeframe has been provided. Therefore, it will likely take some time before the film hits theaters and streaming services.
The anime is currently still in production at A-1 Pictures. The studio is also responsible for the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling and The Seven Deadly Sins.
What is the mood like regarding the trailer? On Reddit and in the comments on YouTube, there are some users comparing the anime to the anime Fate/stay night. This is because Takashi Takeuchi is responsible for the character design of the series and now also for Eisen Flügel.
Additionally, Yuki Kajiura, the composer of Fate/Zero, is on board. Even the author of Eisen Flügel is connected to Fate/Zero – after all, he contributed to the story.
Many users write that they are interested and cannot wait to learn more about the anime. The animation itself receives mixed reactions – some praise the animation quality of the airplanes, while others ironically note that the airplanes “are the best that PlayStation 2 models could produce in 2011”.
Eisen Flügel uses the German language. Another anime also draws on German terms regarding cities and characters. This tradition is maintained in the second season: The best anime of all time shows a new trailer for season 2, continuing the tradition of German names
