Which mission is it? “Burning Desire” is a side quest in Cyberpunk 2077 where you have to help a man named Jesse Johnson. He suffers from a defective and recalled sexual implant, the Mr. Stud XCV 19. It’s up to us to drive Jesse to a Ripperdoc to have the faulty technology removed.
A quest that nearly every player completes successfully right away – but not really everyone. Because should you arrive at the Ripperdoc too late despite the nearly foolproof task, the man with the smoking pants has a bigger problem: he explodes.
It is the fate of a minor character that most players of the Cyberpunk hit have never heard of. Even on Reddit, the possible demise of the NPC does not seem to be widely known.

How does the community react to it? Dozens of comments about the tragic fate of “Burning Desire” are bustling on Reddit. But many gamers are especially surprised that this is even possible. So is AcceptableHamster149 on Reddit: “I have literally never not completed this quest in multiple playthroughs. I didn’t think that was even possible,” says the user.
Another funny anecdote is told by the user 05032-MendicantBias. He tried to pick up the injured Jesse on a motorcycle, to which he exclaimed, “Seriously? I can’t ride like this.”
What rounds this off is the fact that the suffering Jesse is voiced by the American gamer and YouTuber Jesse Cox. His appearance is also inspired by the 44-year-old.
Where can you find Jesse? If you drive along Farrier Street in the district of “Watson,” you can hear a moaning man. He stands in a small square in front of the Megabuilding H10 and holds his groin. There you will find Jesse and can decide whether to help poor Jesse.
However, the fact that such outrageous fates are not extraordinary in Night City had to be realized recently by another gamer: After 600 hours of Cyberpunk 2077, a player helps an NPC for the first time and realizes that there is no happy ending for anyone in Night City.
