Far Cry 5 not only offers a beautiful landscape but also features a day-night cycle. Unfortunately, some players are facing a bug that prevents it from becoming day.
In Far Cry 5, players enjoy the landscapes of the fictional Hope County, Montana, which is loosely based on real areas in the US state. However, some players are currently pulled out of this illusion by a bug that causes it to never become day in the game.
In a now 14-page long thread in the official Ubisoft forum, some players report that it never becomes day in their Hope County. Ideas like reinstalling the game, reloading, or using fast travel do not help in this case.
Bug primarily occurs in Holland Valley
Many of the affected players report that the bug occurred for them in Holland Valley, the region of John Seed. The main questline of John is cited as a trigger, as well as side missions in his area.
A mission that is frequently mentioned in connection with this game bug is the Clutch Nixon quest “Ballern und Beten”, located southeast of Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Farm and west next to the Copperhead Railway.
Ubisoft is informed, players help each other
The Ubisoft support has already been informed about this bug. Until the developers provide a fix, players in the forum are trying to give each other tips on how to coax the sun back into their game.
It is suggested to continue playing. For some affected players, the game has “fixed” itself after some time. Others recommend completing missions where it is story-wise daytime. An example would be the “Testy Festy” quest line, which also takes place in Holland Valley and ends with the protagonist being awakened by the sun after a night of partying.
Another player advises inviting a friend who is not affected by this bug to a co-op match. In his case, playing with a friend was able to break the continuous night cycle.
