Place 5: Círdan
Círdan appears only briefly in a single scene in the film and is not even named. Yet the Elf is quite important. He bears the title “The Shipwright” and is known for his great wisdom among the Elves. In the series “The Rings of Power,” he is featured much more prominently.
At the time of “The Lord of the Rings,” Círdan is the lord of the Grey Havens, an Elven port city from where one can sail to Aman, to the Undying Lands. This is what Frodo, Bilbo, and Gandalf did in part 3.
Besides his duties at the Grey Havens, Círdan was once a warrior who opposed Sauron with the army of the Last Alliance. He also possessed the Ring of Fire, called Narya, for a time before passing it to Gandalf. His position and power in Middle-earth are also demonstrated by the fact that Círdan is a member of the White Council, which only includes a few very wise figures like Galadriel and Gandalf.
