Young people from Gen Z are currently flooding the job market, but their popularity with bosses is sometimes quite poor.
What do bosses complain about regarding Generation Z? According to a survey by the website intelligent.com among around 1,000 executives from U.S. companies, one primary concern is the behavior of young people belonging to Gen Z. 9 out of 10 wish that people in their early to mid-20s would take etiquette courses.
What exactly is Gen Z? They are also called Zoomers and were born between 1996 and 2012. Before them are the Millennials or Generation Y starting from 1980. Baby Boomers began their lives in the post-war period. The birth period of Generation X is from 1965 to 1979. Anyone who was born in 2012 or later belongs to Generation Alpha.
Dissatisfaction with Gen Z
How satisfied are respondents generally with Gen Z? Other telling results from the surveys include:
- 75 percent are dissatisfied with the entry-level employees
- 6 out of 10 have since fired at least one or even all of the entry-level employees for 2024
- In citing the reasons for their dissatisfaction, respondents primarily mention lack of communication skills, missing professionalism, low initiative and motivation, or difficulties in organizing themselves.
- Although they are dissatisfied, around 80 percent will hire college graduates again in the coming year, with only a few ruling it out today.
