What kind of object is it? The Darkhold is a powerful book that contains the teachings of the demon Chthon. Ignoring Agents of Shield, Agatha Harkness had a copy of the book for a long time and used it to enhance her abilities.
When Wanda came into possession of the book after the events of WandaVision, she was influenced by it. Her obsession with her twins drove her insane and made her search the multiverse for them.
The Darkhold allows the user to harness dark energy from another dimension. The stronger the user, the greater the book’s potential. Wanda was able to use significantly more powerful magic than Agatha (Source: Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki).
