It promises to take you back to the classic world of Lineage II, starting October 3, 2018. Expect a high degree of difficulty, a lot of grinding, and harsh death penalties or PvP rules. Anyone wanting to master this without a group has to be tough.
You have 31 classes and 5 races available. If you join a clan, you can declare war on other communities and earn valuable loot. Access is Free2Play, but runs through NCsoft’s Purple Launcher. If you’re more interested in a modern Lineage, there’s good news: NCsoft is apparently building a team for a next-gen Lineage.
Dofus Retro
Setting: Fantasy | Developer: Ankama | Platform: PC | Release Date: September 2005 | Model: Free2Play
The French MMORPG Dofus received a classic experience called “Dofus Retro” for its 15th anniversary, based on version 1.29 and promises fans of the game a nostalgic journey into the past. A rather challenging journey, mind you. The developers promise that there’s no free ride to level 200 for noobs.
On the contrary, genre pros can try their luck on the so-called single-account server, which promises a hardcore experience. By the way, you won’t get a “1 to 1” implementation of the original version since menus, technology, and graphics have been noticeably modernized.
Since Dofus employs a turn-based, tactical combat system, you can expect a somewhat different experience than traditional MMORPGs. You will encounter 12 character classes, various professions, story quests, guilds, and group challenges. More details about Dofus Retro can be found at dofus-retro.com.
