Warhammer 40,000 (short: Warhammer 40k) is originally a tabletop strategy game, but there are also several pen-and-paper role-playing systems set in the grim sci-fi world with fantasy influences, such as Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, or the newer Wrath & Glory.
These role-playing games allow players to take on the roles of agents of the Imperium, Inquisitors, soldiers, or chaos followers in the midst of a relentless, dystopian future where there is only war.
