Recently, there has been a lot of trouble regarding the founder’s farewell from the show 7 vs. Wild. Especially the departure of Fritz Meinecke caused confusion among fans. Now the creators are introducing the face of the new season, and fans find it surprisingly good.
What happened to Fritz Meinecke? 7 vs. Wild was created by Fritz Meinecke, Johannes Hovekamp, and Maximilian Kovacs, and they also developed the first seasons themselves. After the second season, they sold the project to the production company CaliVision, which then produced further seasons with the help of the founders.
However, after the 4th season, it was over for the original founders, and it was clear that season 5 would be created without them. This upset fans because the production company had repeatedly shown negative behavior in the past. For example, when the candidates were supposed to be stranded with a gas grill in season 3 or a team spent 14 days with a view of a hotel resort.
In season 5, there were already the first missteps. Instead of a produced video, the candidates were initially introduced as an Instagram post. Also, the introduction video of the show was perceived by fans as a boring trailer, which further affected the mood. However, the creators are now showing the face of the new season, and fans actually find it good.
Jens „Knossi“ Knosalla has already announced his reactions to the new season. You can find out more about him here:
New face of 7 vs. Wild impresses with experience
Who is the new face of 7 vs. Wild? Instead of a fixed replacement for Fritz Meinecke, the series creators have decided to look for a host for season 5. The local expert is Hervé Neukomm, a native Swiss who has been living in the Amazon rainforest for over 16 years according to the introduction video.
As the host of the new season, the expert is well-versed in the rainforest but has also experienced much more. Instead of working as a banker in a travel agency, he set off on his bicycle from Europe in 2004, covering 42,000 kilometers while traveling through Turkey, Syria, and later deep into Africa. There he went on safari for two years.
Later, he came to Ecuador, built a boat, and crossed the Amazon with it. He covered 7,500 kilometers over 26 rivers. According to the introduction video, he was also the first person to cross the entire Amazon using only his own muscle power.
You can find his entire introduction here on YouTube:
How do fans feel about the new face? With Hervé Neukomm, the creators of 7 vs. Wild have found just the right host for the fans. Despite his significant achievements, the man comes across as calm and composed in the video. He seems to be the expert that fans believe is truly needed there.
Fans also appreciate the new concept of using local experts as hosts for the scenarios. On YouTube, @sol9255 writes: “If the [creators] now want to use changing hosts/challengers living in the respective region after Fritz’s departure, I would actually find that quite exciting. Fritz is just an original that cannot be replaced. But regionally adjusted moderators would make it all very interesting! Sympathetic dude […]”
The positive feedback that the creators of 7 vs. Wild receive with this choice shows that season 5 can also be good without Fritz Meinecke. Especially the announcement of the “toughest season” was met with confusion among fans: 7 vs. Wild announces toughest season ever, fans complain: “Boring as this trailer can’t be”
