This weapon also seems initially harmless, but in the right hands, it can cause great damage. This becomes particularly clear when the Witch-king injures Frodo at Weathertop with it. The hobbit would have likely died had Aragorn not driven the Nazgûl away and had Arwen not appeared. She brought Frodo to Rivendell, where he was saved – an aspect, however, that is portrayed differently in the film than in the book.
The Morgul Blade is rarely used, but lethal against most beings – unless they receive help. For the wound caused by the weapon is very dangerous and can never be completely healed. Frodo feels this throughout his adventure, and only when he eventually sails to the Undying Lands does the wound heal completely. Should one not survive an attack, one will turn into an undead.
