The universe of Dungeons & Dragons is full of various items, gear, weapons, and other equipment suitable for your campaign. However, those who have heard of Exandria, the world of Critical Role’s main campaigns, know that there are many more interesting treasures.
Dungeons & Dragons features various rulebooks and expansions full of magical items and other useful objects. The well-known group “Critical Role” also plays with the rules of Dungeons & Dragons, but they do not hesitate to create their own locations, lore, and even their own magical items that the characters from Vox Machina, The Mighty Nein, or Bells Hells used in their campaigns.
These items are from the world of “Exandria” by Matt Mercer, the dungeon master of Critical Role, who has served as DM for the group for 10 years, but from the next main campaign will hand over this position to Brennan Lee Mulligan to become a player himself.
But just because they come from Exandria does not mean that you cannot use them for your own campaigns. Therefore, in this list, we present to you 7 magical items from Critical Role that are particularly exciting and can bring fresh air to your campaigns.
Here you see the teaser for Critical Role’s new animated campaign “The Mighty Nein”, which will premiere this November on Amazon Prime:
“Serpent Belt” (“Serpent Belt”)
- First appearance: Campaign 1 – Vox Machina, Episode 5: “The Trick About Falling”
The Serpent Belt is, as the name suggests, a serpentine leather belt.
The wearer of this belt is not only immune to poison. Once per day, one can command the belt as a bonus action to transform into a poisonous snake, which then follows the verbal commands of the wearer for up to one hour. If the snake is killed or moves more than 100 feet (approximately 30 meters) away from the wearer, it transforms back into a harmless belt.
The Serpent Belt has already appeared in the animated series about Vox Machina, where it is sent by Vax to distract a guard. Poisonous snakes are not only dangerous; they can also be a simple distraction.
