Hell Let Loose
Platform: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5
What distinguishes Hell Let Loose? Hell Let Loose is another military simulation. Unlike Squad and Arma, this shooter takes place during World War II. Consequently, the weapons, vehicles, and communication equipment are naturally outdated. Communication between squads across the entire team is important, but this crucial task is only fulfilled by one person in your squad.
The maps take you to the locations of real battles, and together with the sound design, create a haunting yet incredibly immersive atmosphere. Hell Let Loose makes it clear that this is not a shooter where you can carelessly run around the map. You are soldiers of World War II, and thick armor plates that protect you are nonexistent. Any injury can be fatal, and only medics can save you.
Delta Force
What distinguishes Delta Force? Delta Force is a free-to-play shooter that was first released in December 2024. Even before its release, there were early comparisons to Battlefield, as Delta Force features large maps, vehicles, and PvP with up to 64 players and building destruction.
However, Delta Force has a significant drawback: it took Battlefield 2042 as a model for multiplayer. This means there are operators instead of classes, each with unique abilities. Some of these abilities are somewhat futuristic. For example, there is a bow that shoots arrows with an environment scanner, revealing enemies within a certain radius.
Additionally, in Delta Force, every operator can equip any weapon, movement is relatively fast and not very realistic, there is no server browser, and the weapon behavior and time-to-kill bear little resemblance to real life.
In addition to the PvP mode in the style of Battlefield, there is an extraction mode and a co-op campaign that adapts the events of a real rescue mission. There is even a film about this rescue mission: A competitor to Battlefield brings a co-op campaign based on an excellent action film
