As early as the 1970s, Marvel sent its heroes to battle against the giant lizard from Japan. Of course, this leads to an epic confrontation. In this version, Godzilla is less a symbol of the atomic bomb, but rather an ancient, fearsome creature threatening the world.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. organization charges into battle against Godzilla, while he later also encounters the Avengers or the Fantastic Four. While there is a lot of fighting initially, there is a twist: Godzilla is not really evil, but misunderstood. Thus, he joins the heroes to fight against other, truly monstrous foes. By the way, Godzilla is among those beings that even defeated Superman.
