Place 3: Winged Creatures
These creatures remind us of a mix between a dragon and a giant bird. They serve the Nazgûl as mounts, but they are also fierce fighters themselves. From great heights, they dive on their victims, tearing them to the ground with the claws of their legs or wings. Even horses are torn apart in mere fractions of a second.
However, even before the actual attack, the Winged Creatures strike fear: Their high cry, more of a caw, announces their arrival. This already instills great fear in most armies, further diminishing the will to confront the enemy. Their ability to appear anywhere in Middle-earth in a short time makes them even more dangerous.
