The Briarwoods
Lord Sylas Briarwood and Lady Delilah Briarwood are two enemies from the first campaign of Critical Role, Vox Machina, who are particularly cunning and relentless. They are almost a “poetic” pair of villains, if they hadn’t committed such terrible deeds. The two are indeed willing to risk everything for their love.
After Sylas was terminally ill, Delilah desperately sought help, which, however, came too late. Out of desperation and grief, she turned to meditation and dark magic to bring her deceased lover back, to which a strange voice responded, the origin of which will also be mentioned in this list.
She blindly followed this voice and ultimately managed to transform Sylas into a vampire through a vampiric ritual, thereby bringing him back – which ultimately made them both servants of this dark voice.
Their personal and cruel connection to Percy from Vox Machina, the power over hordes of undead, and their malicious cunning make the Briarwood couple not only strong but also two of the most legendary villains in Critical Role.
So legendary that Delilah’s influence on the players extended beyond the first campaign, as another soul from Campaign 3 has a special connection to her.
