The Hexblade

In the case of a Hexblade warlock, the warlock makes a pact with a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell, whose power manifests in a magical and sentient, “living” weapon. It is known that the Raven Queen forged the first of these weapons, leading many wise scholars to speculate that these Hexblade weapons and their warlocks seek greater influence over the material planes.
The Hexblade as a patron is suitable for players who want to engage in melee while still casting spells – and want to deal as much damage as possible. A Hexblade warlock has access to better armor, shields, and of course, a powerful weapon that relies on Charisma instead of Strength or Dexterity. By combining various crowd-control spells and strong melee attacks, the Hexblade warlock is very versatile and effective.
Example of Otherworldly Patrons (In this case Pact Weapon):
Blackrazor (a living, chaotic-neutral greatsword).
Best Features:
- Blade Curse: The warlock adds their proficiency bonus to their damage rolls and requires one less die result to achieve a critical hit.
- Hex Warrior: You can bind your “Cursed Weapon,” allowing the warlock to use their Charisma modifier instead of Strength or Dexterity when attacking with weapons. Additionally, you are proficient with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons.
