Top TMs
What does the item do? Top TMs only exist in Pokémon GO. They have the advantage over regular TMs that trainers can choose moves that their pocket monsters can learn. With regular TMs, this happens randomly.
Additionally, moves can also be selected that were available only during events such as Community Day. This option does not exist with regular TMs.
Why is it not used? Top TMs are quite rare. So you definitely do not want to waste them. According to our Pokémon GO expert Max, it is a good option to equip Pokémon with exclusive moves that you would not otherwise receive, making them particularly good attackers for the PvP league or in raids.

Nanab Berry
What does the item do? In Pokémon GO, berries have a different function than in the main games. In the main series, berries can be used to make bars and Poké Blocks that increase contest scores.
However, in Pokémon GO, berries are used when catching a Pokémon. Specifically, the Nanab Berry is used to slow down the Pokémon’s movements, making it easier to hit with a Pokéball.
Why is it not used? The Nanab Berry is the most useless berry of all. It is rarely necessary for Pokémon to stay still and not be too frantic. The berries are so abundantly available that our PoGO expert Max eventually throws them away to make room for other items.
