Longstrider
- Level 1 Transmutation Spell
- Artificer, Bard, Druid, Ranger, Wizard
Longstrider allows the target to have a higher/faster movement rate, which is especially useful in combat, but it can also shorten travel times in Dungeons & Dragons. In both games, it can be cast on one person, and at a higher level, it can target multiple allies.
The difference between the video game and the tabletop DnD mainly lies in duration. In Dungeons & Dragons, the spell lasts for one hour, while in Baldur’s Gate 3 it lasts until the next long rest. A really long period during which the spell can truly fulfill its purpose and thus becomes particularly valuable, especially when it can speed up the entire party at higher levels.
It’s really worth gathering closely after a long rest in Baldur’s Gate 3 to gain the spell’s advantage. In Dungeons & Dragons, it has to be timed a bit better – which could be difficult because ambushes are known to occur rather unexpectedly (if the rumors are to be believed).
