Laura Victoriano from The Evil Within
Laura is an antagonist from the first game in The Evil Within series, who has been dead for years before the events of the game. Although there is no real opportunity to interact with the woman, one learns all the details of her tragic story secondhand.
Laura and her later fate are probably the biggest trigger for the events of the game. She was the only person who truly understood her younger brother Ruben, who is better known as Ruvik, the main antagonist of the game.
Unfortunately, her life was ended by the villagers whose land the Victorians had bought. They decided to take revenge by burning down the Victorian family’s barn – while the two children were playing inside.
When the barn succumbed to the flames, Laura saved her brother’s life by helping him to escape through a window at the top of the barn. However, Laura was not so lucky. She fell and was consumed by the flames.
The loss of Ruvik’s sister ultimately led to the creation of the creature one encounters throughout the game. A creature born from Laura’s tragic death and Ruvik’s own revenge. The being is almost bulletproof but reacts violently to fire… the source of that should be very obvious.

Her skin is scarred, reminiscent of the arson, and her weakness is a constant reminder of her death in the barn. She is fast, grotesque, and a creature one would prefer to avoid encountering.
