Okja
In Okja, a company creates a kind of super pig that is supposed to help the environment as a meat supplier. It is supposed to produce little CO₂, be large, and additionally taste damn good
. The titular animal grows up on a farm with a little girl until it is taken away by the company to be slaughtered.
The girl does not want to allow that and sets out on a journey to save her animal friend. Along the way, she also encounters an animal rights organization. The film is directed by Bong Joon-ho, who celebrated massive success two years later with Parasite.
Okja is a touching film that addresses difficult themes such as environmental protection and animal suffering. The actors are really good, especially Tilda Swinton as the villain, and the film itself is visually impressive.
