Final Fantasy X
Even though Final Fantasy X is now over 23 years old, it is still considered one of the most beloved entries in the series. Originally released on PlayStation 2, it was the first Final Fantasy with full 3D graphics and voice acting.
Final Fantasy X has several parallels to Clair Obscur – and that’s not surprising, as this game was clearly an inspiration for the developers.
The turn-based combat system is quite classic and at its core is what Expedition 33 was also based on – only without active parrying and dodging.
As similarly complex as the Lumina and Picto systems is the progress system in FFX. Here you have the “Spherobord”, where you can develop each character as you wish. Even though the game has somewhat fixed roles for who should be a mage, melee fighter or healer, you can shape every character according to your desires and expand them endlessly.
The complex story of Final Fantasy has a large number of parallels that we have addressed in this article. If you don’t want to be spoiled, you should read as little as possible in advance.
Even though Final Fantasy X is quite old, you can hardly go wrong with this game. Especially in a bundle with the direct story sequel Final Fantasy X-2, you get many hours of RPG fun at a low price.
