Also popular on Twitch and YouTube, Dungeons & Dragons enjoys great popularity. So if you have no one to play with or simply can’t get enough, we present some groups here that you can join on their adventures.
Dungeons & Dragons has long since been played not only among friends but also analog or digitally in group sessions. Content creators also share their sessions on platforms like Twitch or YouTube and take their viewers along on their adventures. This type of content is often referred to as Actual Play.
The most well-known group, which has grown into a huge franchise, is Critical Role. But there are many other cool groups you can follow that will pull you into their worlds and stories in their own unique ways.

Who is Critical Role?
Even though many Dungeons & Dragons fans may know the group Critical Role, we will still briefly introduce them for those who might not have heard of them:
Critical Role consists of a group of well-known voice actors from the USA. Led by Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer, players and viewers are transported to the world of Exandria, which is now the setting for three campaigns, oneshots, and specials. The fourth campaign starts on October 2, 2025.
The main cast includes voice actors Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, and Ashley Johnson, who are known from many video games and series. Guests are often invited for a while, individual episodes, or oneshots, who also come from the industry. Depending on the format, the Dungeon Master may change as well. New episodes are regularly created, usually on Thursdays, and the game is played using the 5th Edition ruleset of Dungeons & Dragons.
Today, the world around Critical Role is adorned not only with their sessions but also with two adaptations in the form of animated series for the first two campaigns (The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein, the first season of the latter will be released on November 19, 2025), several comics, two standalone role-playing rulebooks called Candela Obscura and Daggerheart, comics, novels, live shows, and more.
