Mad God (2021)
“Mad God” is a dark animated film that depicts a life-denying perspective on our world and society through slimy, monstrous creatures in a violence-ravaged hell.
It is an experimental film that, alongside stop-motion animation, incorporates live-action elements. It requires no dialogue or clear plot to create horror; rather, it plays with the feeling of hopelessness in a world defined by war and violence.
As a viewer, you follow a character wearing a gas mask, the last human navigating through the chaos of the film to accomplish an initially unknown task. The director and VFX artist of Mad God, Phil Tippett, took 30 years to complete this film.
