PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Unstoppable hit!
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is like the Duracell bunny. Contrary to all initial expectations, it just keeps running and running and running. Instead of slowing down at some point, it even cranks it up every month and amazes players and the press with new success stories. Recently, PUBG even dethroned Valve’s MOBA hit Dota 2 in terms of concurrent players.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Battle Royale – A royal fun!
In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, 100 player characters are dropped via parachute over an abandoned island in the East Block. Your goal: Survive as the last one standing! To ensure you are left standing at the end and your fellow players are not, the previous inhabitants of the island have kindly left weapons, equipment, and vehicles lying around everywhere.
With these, you happily shoot, blow up, run over, and smash each other until only one player remains. Alternatively, you can play PUBG in duo or squad mode, where the goal is to be the last surviving 2 or 4 team. So you can play PUBG either as a lone wolf or a team player. The feeling of the game is fundamentally different.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Each round is unique and tells a different story
The special thing about PUBG is, among other things, that each round runs completely differently. Sometimes you find a good spot right at the start and can go hunting with top gear and equipment. You then become a dangerous hunter and the terror of the less well-equipped players.
Sometimes, however, you are an unlucky player who is running around with just a frying pan and underwear through the woods and running away in panic from every shadow. Additionally, there are regularly outrageous and absurd situations that can only happen in a massive, procedurally generated gameplay like in PUBG:
- Two players jump precisely into a heavily fortified house with a motorcycle and wipe out all surprised defenders.
- A player manages to maneuvers a car into a bunker and crushes all enemies inside.
- A Korean streamer disguises as a member of the opposing team, infiltrates it, and kills everyone at the right moment.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently only available for PC on Steam, but a version for Xbox One is already planned and is set to be released in the 4th quarter of 2017. You can find a preview report on PUBG here.
