PlayerUnknown‘s Battlegrounds
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a fast-paced battle royale shooter developed by Brendan Greene. Greene made a name for himself back then as a modder by developing mods for ARMA that featured battle royale combat. Meanwhile, Greene has a job at TERA developers Bluehole Studios and is responsible for his own battle royale game.
Battle Royale – 100 enter, one comes out!
The term Battle Royale refers to a mass battle, at the end of which only one winner remains. Only victory counts; anyone who loses is left behind.
The theme of battle royale as a brutal survival fight has been addressed multiple times in literature and film, most recently in the Hunger Games series or the dark film Battle Royale, where students left on an island slaughter each other.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds works similarly. Your character, along with 99 other players, is dropped over a rundown Eastern Bloc island via parachute. You start only with the clothes on your back and must quickly find weapons, armor, backpacks, and bandages. Because the opponents don’t sleep, and in the end, there can only be one (or a predetermined team) that can celebrate their victory with the revelatory words “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner”.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Ideal for Streamers
As every round in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds plays out differently, the game remains enjoyable even after the tenth time. Sometimes it happens that you take a dive right after jumping because you want to land faster and deploy your parachute too late. Other times, you may be the last one standing, engaging in a thrilling duel with the last enemy. And sometimes others brazenly ride cars into bunkers and over their enemies.
Due to the many insane actions, matches in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are interesting for streamers and their viewers. Between the wild shootouts, there are often minutes without action as you hide from an enemy or search an abandoned house. This gives players plenty of opportunities to entertain their viewers with engaging stories and anecdotes.
Always new content
To ensure that the game doesn’t get boring eventually, new content is introduced regularly. New items come into play each month, and regular patches ensure better performance and bug fixes.
Praiseworthy: The team is dedicated and ensures that issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
The current monthly patch brought the new sniper weapon VSS Vintorez and a stunt bike, and later two completely new maps are planned, one of which will be significantly smaller than the previous map.
