Secret World Legends – The remake of the best MMO you never played
The Secret World is one of the most unusual MMOs on the market. The game from Funcom disregards most MMO principles and lets you fight against beings that could come straight out of a story by H.P. Lovecraft or Stephen King without a fixed class in a modern horror scenario.
Unfortunately, the unusual online role-playing game never enjoyed much success. But that could change soon, as Funcom is planning a comprehensively revised remake of the horror and mystery MMO under the name Secret World Legends.
Secret World Legends – More accessible and dynamic
The main problem with The Secret World has always been its clunky and inaccessible combat system. Character creation and hero progression were also not optimally solved. This made The Secret World play quite sluggishly and unsatisfactorily. It had a great story MMO, but gameplay-wise, it was lacking.
Therefore, the remake will mainly focus on gameplay. Especially the battles are to become more intuitive and dynamic. Additionally, Funcom plans to make character progression more meaningful. Interestingly, the developers also have a problem with the term “MMORPG”.
Secret World Legends – Shared World RPG instead of MMORPG
Secret World Legends is intended to be a “Shared World RPG” instead, where you primarily operate alone and in small groups. This is to increase immersion in the game world, which is never a bad thing in a dark horror game. This way, you can ensure that you are not disturbed by hordes of other players while conducting your investigations.
In addition to the content from the old The Secret World, you will get a bunch of new content, including an expanded city of the sun god, new weapon skills, and UI customization options. Also cool: You can also exchange the premium currency Aurum for in-game money and buy real money items without using real money.
Secret World Legends will be released on June 26. It is free-to-play, and you will have to start over. Your heroes from the original game are not transferable, but Funcom will keep the old servers running.
On page four, we continue with an immensely successful shooter.
