Wayward – Unpredictable
In 2025, mystery series were also a must on Netflix, with Wayward being a surprise hit. The series revolves around a boarding school that caters to difficult children in order to get them back on the right path
. That not everything is above board becomes clear after just the first glimpses of the school.
The series usually tells itself in two narratives that show different approaches. A police officer tries to uncover the secrets of the school, while a student has been brought to the school and is dealing with the processes inside.
Sometimes the series has a few lags, but the mystery holds until the end, and especially Toni Collette as the head of the school is great again. She impresses in almost every film or series, and as Evelyn Wade, she has found the perfect balance between threatening and nice.
The series was quite successful on Netflix: A thriller series on Netflix was watched for 48 million hours in just 4 days, although almost no one had it on their radar beforehand.
